Taxonomic history. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The male of the type species has not been recognized as such; the presumed male was associated and described (in a key to genera) by Brothers, 2006: 587 and differentiated by Cambra & Quintero, 2006: 94.

Distribution. Neotropical.
