Gender. Feminine.

Type species. Clinotilla multidentata Arnold, 1956 (female), by original designation.

Taxonomic history. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The male was associated (on the basis of morphology and distribution) but not described by Brothers, 1975: 591 ; no male has since been described.

Distribution. Afrotropical.
