Zorochros dermestoides (Herbst, 1806)

Hypnoidus dermestoides (Herbst, 1806) : Vats & Chauhan, 1991: 295 (report from India: Himachal Pradesh).

Remark. Vats & Chauhan (1991) reported this species as Hypnoidus dermestoides from Kullu District, Himachal Pradesh. Based on the characters provided in their description, it is evident that the species they referred to belongs to the genus Zorochros . However, Z. dermestoides is known from Europe ( Cate 2007), and both the morphological description and the aedeagus illustration by Vats & Chauhan (1991: 295) do not support (see Lompe 2010) the identification of their specimen as Z. dermestoides . Therefore, we treat Zorochros dermestoides (Herbst) sensu Vats & Chauhan (1991) as a dubious assignment.
