Type species. Mutilla eurydice Péringuey, 1898 (female), by original designation.

Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Stenomutilla André, 1896 according to Bischoff, 1921: 680. Resurrected to generic status by Lelej, 2007: 95. Here considered junior subjective synonym of Stenomutilla André, 1896. Subjectively invalid name.

Sex association. The male of the type species has not been recognized.

Distribution. Afrotropical.
