Holotype:— PAKISTAN. Punjab, Lahore Division and District , elev. 218 m a.s.l., on soil, 28 July 2019, Aqsa Aslam 4- SJ191 ( UEH-F0014 ; GenBank: OR946478 ).
Etymology:—The specific epithet refers to the brownish pink striations on pileus.
Diagnosis:— Volvariella roseostriata is characterized by brownish pink, radially arranged tuberculate striations over a pinkish white pileal context making it distinct from V. dunensis which has a subglobose or campanulate to plano-convex, radially fibrillose or sometimes radially fissurate, grey or bluish grey pileus with some brownish tints and smaller (7.8 × 5.2 μm vs 8.3 × 6 μm) basidiospores.
Description:— Pileus 3.8–5 cm diam., flat to slightly depressed at center; central disc visible; surface dry, smooth, glabrous to very delicately fibrillose; margin uplifted, rimose, with radially arranged tuberculate striations; pinkish brown (10 R 7/2) from center to brownish pink (2.5 BG 4/2) striations over a pinkish white (5 YR 8/1) context. Lamellae free, ventricose, crowded, margin entire to slightly undulate, pink (5 YR 8/3), lamellulae of various lengths. Stipe 5.2– 8.6 × 1.1–1.3 cm, central, cylindrical, equal, base slightly bulbous, surface glabrous, smooth, white. Volva 1.5 cm in length, saccate, lobed, white, surface smooth.
Basidiospores [40/2/2] (6)6.4–10.3(10.4) × (4.6)4.8–7.1(7.4) µm, avl × avw = 8.3 × 6 μm, Q = (1.1)1.2–1.4(1.5) µm, avQ = 1.3, ellipsoid, smooth, thin-walled, guttulate, with prominent apiculus, inamyloid, hyaline in 5 % KOH. Basidia (18)19–22(24) × (7.8)8.3–11(11.4) µm, clavate to broadly clavate, with 2–4 sterigmata. Cheilocystidia (37.2)38–39.7(40.2) × (8.6)9.2–11.2(11.5) µm, clavate to utriform, narrowly fusiform and mucronate. Pleurocystidia (29.5)30–32.5(34) × (10)11.2–11.7(12) µm, narrowly fusiform to utriform, narrowly lageniform, frequent. Pileipellis hyphae (1.8)2.2–6.2(7.5) µm diam., frequently septate, clamp connections absent. Stipitipellis hyphae (2.4)2.8–4.7(4.8) µm diam., frequent, septate. Clamp connections absent in all tissues. All tissues hyaline and colorless in 5 % KOH.

Habitat and distribution:—Found on soil in warm semi-arid climate of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan dominated by Alstonia scholaris , Ficus spp . and S. cumini .
