Note. In Fritsch (1918) T. volvocina f. minuta Fritsch , now regarded as synonym of Chrysococcus minutus (F.E.Fritsch) Nygaard ( Chrysophyceae), was recorded. In Rino (1969: Pl. 5, fig. 4) T. volvocina var. punctata Playfair was recorded. Based on unpublished data it is a synonym of T. volvocina var. volvocina .
