Note. The dorsal diverticulum of the vesica of T. variabilis sp. n. has a dorsally directed subdiverticulum, which remarkably varies in its size and shape in different populations.

Diagnosis. The forewing length is 12.5–13.5 mm in males and 15.0 mm in females. Teulisna variabilis sp. n. is externally similar to T. fimbriata , T. obliquistria sp. n. and T. tubularis sp. n., and the reliable identification requires the examination of the genitalia structures. The male genital capsule of T. variabilis sp. n. is reminiscent of T. bucseki sp. n. and T. fimbriata but can be distinguished by the longer pseudoampulla protruding beyond the dorsal margin of the valva. The vesica structure of T. variabilis sp. n. is very characteristic and differs from other congeners in the large and curved dorsal and medial diverticula making the vesica S-shaped, and the medial diverticulum bearing a long and robust, horn-shaped cornutus. In the female genitalia, T. variabilis sp. n. is most similar to T. omeiana sp. n. but differs in the posterior section of the corpus bursae bearing a large and irregular sclerotised plate, which is fused with the sclerotisation of the ductus bursae, the gelatinous and rugose right lateral protrusion of the corpus bursae (it is sclerotised in T. omeiana sp. n.), and the anterior section of the corpus bursae bearing a single elliptical signum whereas T. omeiana sp. n. has two small round signa. Additionally, the anterior apophysis of T. variabilis sp. n. is shorter and thicker than in T. omeiana sp. n.

Distribution. The new species is found in Northern Thailand (Lampang and Chiang Mai Provinces).

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the variable shape of the dorsal subdiverticulum in the new species’ vesica. The name is an adjective in apposition to the generic name.
