14. lacustre Du Plessis, 1892

Source. In the binomen Tetrastemma lacustre by Du Plessis (1892: 66).

Type locality. Lake Geneva in Anières, Geneva, Switzerland ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ) .

Etymology. Latin adjective, lacustris , - is, - e, meaning “of lake”.

Remarks. Redescribed as Emea lacustris by Du Plessis (1893: 329–357, pl. XII, figs 1–3). Tetrastemma lacustre Du Plessis, 1892 was regarded as synonymous with Prostoma lombricoideum Dugès, 1830 by Stiasny-Wijnhoff (1938: 225). Gibson & Moore (1976: 195) suggested that Tetrastemma lacustre might be synonymous with Tetrastemma graecense . Prostoma lacustre is listed as an invalid name by Gibson (1995: 496), but herein considered synonymous with P. clepsinoides .

Volume 15, Number 381 of Zoologischer Anzeiger, in which Du Plessis’ (1892) article was included, was issued on 11 January 1892. The name lacustre Du Plessis, 1892 thus takes precedence over graecense Böhmig, 1893 , the publication date of the latter has long been erroneously regarded as 1892.
