Type:—[ RUSSIA, Kamchatka] Koryak. nats. okr., Olyutorskiy raion, verkhov’e r. Apukvayam [Koryak National Okrug, Olyutorskiy District, the uppermost Apukvayam River], 12 Jul 1976, S. Kharkevich & T. Buch ( LE, no. det. 6086, holotype) .
A core species of T. sect. Arctica, with a number of distinctive features, such as purplish pink flowers, dark stigmas, imbricate outer phyllaries and ± spathulate, undivided, entire leaves with thin, long, purple petioles (see also Kirschner et al. 2022b).
