Speophilus quadricollis Jeannel, 1911 View in CoL
Speophilus quadricollis Jeannel, 1911a View in CoL : XCV; figs. 15, 16.
Current accepted name
Troglocharinus quadricollis (Jeannel, 1911) View in CoL : Fresneda & Salgado, 2016: 206.
Type locality
Type material
Syntypes: MZB 78-1315 (1 ♂), type loc., 17-VI-1911, R. Jeannel & E. G. Racovitza leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey).
Remarks
The type series consist of 20 specimens originally deposited in the Biospeologica collection ( Jeannel, 1911a). Alongside MZB 78-1315, we have found in the MCNB collection two other males (MZB 78-1482) with identical hand-written collection labels but not identified as belonging to the type series (nevertheless, they may in fact be a part), bearing a circular acetate label. We have also found, with identical collection dates and labels as MZB 78-1315 a large part of the type series in the MNHNP general collection (box 73): two specimens with red labels with the inscription “ TYPE ” printed in black letters, and 10 specimens with the inscription “ TYPE ” in red letters on a white background. Fresneda & Salgado (2016) transcribe the inscription on the labels of these 12 specimens belonging to the type series in the MNHNP. In the MNCNM collection (box 27), we have found three specimens with similar collection labels: two have the same white label with the inscription “ TYPE ” in red letters, while the third is identified as a cotype.
