Syntypes: MZB 78-1298 / MZB 78-1309 (6 ♂♂, 6 ♀♀), type loc., 30-IX-1950, F. Español leg.

Remarks

Español (1955) mentions “unos pocos ejemplares” [a few specimens], males and females, without specifying either their number or place of deposit. The specimens found in the MCNB collection have red hand-written labels with the inscription “Serie típica”. According to Español (1955: 262), the type locality was prospected on 30 September [1950] during the second of the biospeleological campaigns described. On the hand-written collection labels appears the date October 1952. Español (1953b) reports the new subspecies in the section “Índice cronológico de los trabajos publicados (1952)” [Chronological index of articles published (1952)] in which he reports the on-going study of the corresponding material, and indicates the title and journal of publication. The name becomes available with the publication of the description (article 13.1.1).
