Remarks

The cave mentioned by Jeannel (1930) is Cova del Traça, near the hamlet of Fontscaldetes, Pla de Cabra, Tarragona province ( Español, 1934, 1950b). This species is only known from this locality ( Salgado et al., 2008; Fresneda & Salgado, 2016). According to Jeannel (1930), the type series consists of three females deposited in the collections of Jeannel (MNHNP) and Zariquiey (MCNB). The specimen located (MZB 78-1214) has a red hand-written label with the inscription “COTIPO”. According to the collection label, this specimen was captured in 1928. The date, which is hard to read, was probably July 1928, as cited by Español (1950b) and, more precisely, 16 July 1928, as reported by Escolà (1977, 1982). In the general collection of the MNHNP (box 73) we have found a specimen with a red label and the inscription “ TYPE ” printed in black. The determination, attributed to Zariquiey (1929), on one of its labels is of a new genus and species (Espagnolia roseti) that was never formally described, which is also mentioned by Jeannel (1930).
