Type locality

Cueva de Juan Gómez [original citation: “Provincia de Santander: cueva de Juan Gómez, en Sámano, a unos 5 km. de Castro-Urdiales”].

Type material

Paratypes: MZB 78-2482 (1 ♀), type loc., IX-1916, C. Bolívar leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey).

Remarks

Bolívar (1917) does not specify how many specimens there are in the type series. The specimen deposited in the MNCB, damaged, is identified as a cotype, both on the identification label hand-written by Bolívar and on another red label. The ♂ holotype, originally designated as “Tipo” (Article 73.1.1.), is deposited in the MNCNM (box 4). Together with this specimen, we have also found at least eight specimens that, given the associated information and the format of their capture labels, probably belong to the type series, although they do not bear labels that state this. We have located in the MNHNP at least six specimens (box 54) labelled as cotypes with similar capture labels (material examined by J. M. Salgado) .
