Simulium ( Simulium) yongi Takaoka & Davies, 1997: 11 View in CoL –16 (Female, male, pupa and larva).

This species was described from females, males, pupae and larvae collected from Cameron Highlands ( Takaoka and Davies, 1997). The pupa and larva of this species were wrongly associated with the female of S. pahangense (Takaoka and Davies, 1995) View in CoL . This species is characterized in the pupa by the cocoon formed of an almost transparent thin membrane and with a large anterodorsal incision.

The pupae and larvae of this species were collected from a cascading stream (elevation ca. 600 m) in Cameron Highlands.

This species was also recorded from Thailand ( Kuvangkadilok and Takaoka, 2000).
