Holotype male: MALAYSIA: W. PAHANG; Cameron Highlands; 1999; Tanah Rata ; 1500–1800m; P. Pacholátko leg.; 7.-9.i. ( NMB).

Description. Body length: 3.35 mm. Body dark auburn ( Fig. 1A–C ), prothorax and elytra with both, bowed, light brown, pointed and raised, clubbed, elongate scales, more than four times longer than wide, rounded apicad. Rostrum shorter than pronotum ( Fig. 1C ), in dorsal view weakly narrowed just behind antennal insertion, widening anteriad, and towards frons. Underside of rostrum with median tooth on submentum just posterior to mouthparts. Eyes oval, in lateral view below level of rostral base in dorsal view eye contours not protruding outside head contour ( Fig. 1D ). Funicular antennomeres subequal (2 nd and 3rd) or transverse (4th to 7th). Club of antennae short egg-shaped ( Fig. 1I ). Ocular lobes weakly pronounced ( Fig. 1D ), set with teeth ( Fig. 1E ). Prothorax weakly transverse (L/B: 0.93) ( Fig. 1A ), weakly constricted before anterior margin; dorsal surface with coarse, polyhedric punctures separated by ridges ( Figs 1A ). Thoracic venter anterior of procoxae (=basisternum) with raspberry-like protuberance ( Fig. 1F ). Procoxae subcontiguous; mesocoxae separated by their diameter; metacoxae separated by less than twice their diameter ( Fig. 1B ). Externally visible part of scutellum small and pentagonal ( Fig. 1H ). Elytra elongate (L/B: 1.6), dorsally widest at shoulders, attenuate from there to apex, hind wings present. Intervals as wide as striae, uneven elytral intervals weakly raised; raised (uneven) intervals on elytra with regularly arranged clubbed-elongate raised scales and shorter, pointed recumbent scales; even intervals with irregularly arranged clubbed-elongate scales. Each puncture of striae laterally with a small granule and a thin recumbent bristle at anterior margin. Meso-, metaventrites and abdominal ventrites weakly punctate; each puncture with a clubbed and bowed, yellowish scale ( Fig. 1B ). Legs slender, femora clubbed, profemora with sharp ventral tooth ( Fig. 1C ). Tarsi with bilobed third tarsomere; claws free. Penis broad shovel-shaped, tip weakly drawn out, dorso-ventrally flattened, with four flat weakly sclerotized internal sclerites ( Figs 6A–C ). Female unknown.

Derivation of name: The species name is a noun in apposition; dedicated to the Semai people living in the Cameron Highlands, known and appreciated for their nonviolence.
