Holotype: not known to exist, not present in MHNG (P. Schwendinger, pers. comm.), not found in 2005; type locality: Mexican plateau .
Original rank: species. Current rank and status: synonym of S. pomacea Koch, 1847 ( Kraepelin 1903, Attems 1930, Bücherl 1942 a).

Remarks: Scolopendra chichimeca was omitted by Bücherl (1974).
