Notes:— Bentham (1845) described this species as Ruprechtia brachystachya . Endlicher (1847) then moved this species into Triplaris sect. Ruprechtia . The most recent treatments ( Brandbyge 1986, Pendry 2004) have separated these two genera, with this plant being placed in Ruprechtia .
