Supino, F. (1897) Nuovi Ixodes della Birmania (nota preventiva). Atti della Società Veneto-Trentina di Scienze Naturali Residente in Padova, Serie 2, 3, 230–238.

Type depositories: BMNH and GM: syntypes (nymphs) ( Anastos 1950, Keirans & Hillyard 2001)

Type locality: “Karkecet”, (“Tanosserim” = Tenasserim?), Myanmar

Type host: Manis javanica

Current status: a synonym of Amblyomma javanense and its original name ( Keirans & Hillyard 2001). The current status of Rhipicephalus javanensis , as Amblyomma javanense , was established by Schulze (1934).

Comments: Anastos (1950) stated that the “ type ” is deposited in the GM. Guglielmone et al. (2020) found discrepancies in the morphological descriptions of Amblyomma javanense ; further studies of types may aid in better defining this species.
