(Annex Fig. 1F, F')
Description. Body length up to 12 mm. Head slightly widened. Body rather wide in middle, tapering towards posterior end. Main body colour beautiful pinkish-purple. Body transparent; alimentary canal shiny orange, sometimes brick-red, disguising delicate basement colour of animal. Wide, bright, white stripe (green in transmitted light) running on dorsal surface, narrowing towards both ends of body, especially posteriorly; in middle portion of body, it reaches greatest, sometimes significant, width; occasionally, at front end of body (on head), this stripe is very weakly expressed, until it almost disappears completely. Eyes orange; cephalic furrows sometimes tinged with reddish-red colour. In epidermis, grains of reddish pigments often noticeable, sometimes so densely that entire body seems to be reddish, retaining basement purple colour only on head.
In addition to the pinkish-purple Prostoma albolineata (Annex Fig. 1F), there is a yellow, differently coloured Prostoma occurring in sublittoral silt, which I attribute to the same species, because often the latter is not different, except for colour, from the above-described P. albolineatum . Sometimes the white stripe on the dorsal surface does not stand out sharply against the yellow background of the body; sometimes it is narrower than that of the violet form, and sometimes a white cephalic gland is located between the four eyes, merging with the stripe, so that the white stripe on the head anteriorly has a kind of cruciform expansion (Annex Fig. 1F').
Localities. Coastal algae with hydroids (Annex Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 , XX, XXII). Off Darse, dirty silt, 5 m deep (Annex Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 , VI). Sublittoral, silt, depths 16–18 m (Annex Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 , II, III, IV). Roots of Posidonia (Annex Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 , XII, IX). Stones with bryozoans, 50 m depth (Annex Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 , XXIII).
Remarks. The original figure (рис. 6a, b) shows two accessory stylet pouches, each containing two or three accessory stylets; now Tetrastemma albolineatum ( Timofeev, 1911) .
