Material examined. 1♂. Vietnam: DONG NAI: Nam Cat Tien National Park, Bau Sau , 1.V.2010, V. Zryanin leg. [1♂ IBSS] .

Identification source. Compared with type [ TARI] .

Previous record. None.

Distribution. China. Vietnam *: Dong Nai.

Occurrence in Vietnam. May. Southeast Indochina dry evergreen forests ecoregion.

Sex association. Female unknown.

Remarks. This species is much rarer than the more widespread Promecilla species, Pr. decora . Only five male specimens have been recognized previously ( Chen 1957; Zhou et al. 2018a), and the specimen examined herein represents the southernmost record of this species.

Type species: Smicromyrme cyaneiventris boheana Chen, 1957 (♂), by original designation.

Diversity and distribution. This genus predominantly occurs in the Oriental Region and reaches the Palaearctic part of China. Twenty-one species are included (Lelej 2005; Okayasu 2020; Pagliano et al. 2020).

Remarks. Identification keys to the males with a ventral mandibular lobe and to females were provided by Okayasu (2017, 2020).
