Life form:—Shrub.

Habitat:—This species grows from the Atlantic Rainforest on the slopes of Serra do Mar to the Cloud Forest of the mountain tops. The elevation records range from 644 to 1474 m a.s.l.

Geographic distribution:—Antonina: G. Hatschbach & J.M. Silva 58528 (MBM!). Guaraqueçaba: M. Scheer et al. 269 (UPCB!). Morretes: J. Cordeiro & J.M. Silva 238 (MBM!). Paranaguá: O.S. Ribas & E. Barboza 4327 (MBM!).

Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B1ab[i,ii,iii]+B2ab[i,ii,iii]). EOO = 1,536.684 km 2 and AOO = 20 km 2. Conservation unit:—Pico do Marumbi State Park.
