BO: Marazzi 2014 [Okavango Delta].— SA: Fritsch, Rich 1930 [Northern Cape Province, Kimberley, dam in Public Gardens, bright-green growth attached to the stones, twigs, etc., August 1916, leg. J.C. Moran; same as previous sample, but with Spirogyra sp.], as Phacus longicauda var. torta Lemm. forma Fritsch & Rich; Hancock 1973 [Gauteng Province, Witwatersrand, Klip River], as Phacus ephippion Pochmann. — ZA: Thomasson 1960 [Bangweulu area: Lake Chaya (13 January 1957)], as Phacus tortus var. roeckii .
Note. In our opinion the illustration in Fritsch & Rich (1930) in Fig. 25B-F is Phacus circumflexus .
