urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:D6565E4B-194B-4686-80F1-8371EA601CF6
Promecidia Lelej, 1996b: 15 , ♀; Lelej 2005: 80, ♂ ♀; Lelej & Brothers 2008: 47 View Cited Treatment ; Lelej et al. 2016: 105 View Cited Treatment , ♂ ♀; Pagliano e t al. 2020: 257. Type species: Promecidia yamanei Lelej, 1996 (♀), by original designation.
Diversity and distribution. This genus is widespread in the Oriental Region with 12 species ( Lelej et al. 2016; Williams et al. 2019b; Lelej 2024).
Remarks. This genus was reviewed by Lelej et al. (2016). However, many undescribed species are recognized from East Asia (JO pers. obs.). Females of Orientidia and Promecidia are easily confused by having two pale setal spots on the metasomal tergum 2 and the pygidial plate smooth and convex ( Williams et al. 2019b). However, they are clearly distinguished by the male morphology ( Lelej 1996b, 2005).
