Abu-Sbaih Apr 1995, rev. Rätzel 15 Aug 2024). – Phelipanche hedypnoidis is new for Egypt (African part), where the locality is situated at approximately 31°13'N, 27°51'E. Recently described from Rodos, Greece (Rätzel & al. 2017: 651 ff.), this is a widely distributed, overlooked species of Mediterranean coastal areas (rarely up to 800 m). It is known from Spain (islands), Morocco, Tunisia, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Lebanon, and Sinai (Rätzel & al. 2017; Hand 2019b; Uhlich & Rätzel 2019; Rätzel & Ristow 2020).
