Remarks: Described from a single gravid female specimen; material in MZUSP comprised of a female adult specimen missing postpedicels of antennae, right foretarsus, right midtibia + tarsus, and right hindtarsus. Originally deposited in Instituto Butantan: “ Holotipo femea, capturado no bairro de Pinheiros, na periferia da cidade de S. Paulo, em fase adulta, a 25 de fevereiro de 1940 ...” [“Female holotype, captured in the Pinheiros neighborhood on the outskirts of São Paulo city, in the adult stage, on February 25, 1940 …”] ( Fonseca 1940; see also specimen examined by Guimarães & Papavero 1999: 228). Synonymized with Metacuterebra infulata ( Lutz, 1917) by Guimarães & Papavero (1999).

Nomenclatural status: Valid as Cuterebra infulata Lutz, 1917 .
