Stems 30-80 cm, simple, puberulent. Leaves 3-6 cm, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, cordate at base, sparsely pubescent, the upper sessile. Inflorescence spike-like, sometimes branched, many-flowered. Bracts 9-12 x 3-5 mm, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acute, rigid, reddish-purple; bracteoles 7 -1 2x 1-4 mm. Calyx 8-10 mm, deeply toothed; teeth lanceolate, as long as or longer than the tube. Corolla 12-14 mm, pink, exserted. S. Spain; Sicilia. Hs Si. (TV. Africa)
