Mucuna? wertheimii Burck View in CoL
Mucuna? wertheimii Burck (1893) View in CoL 188, pl. 14, f. 2. — Type: Exped. Neerl. s.n., Key Islands (n.v.).
The species was described after a fruiting specimen from the Key Islands. The pod in the drawing accompanying the description looks very similar to a Dioclea View in CoL -pod, not much different from those of D. hexandra View in CoL .
In Kew I have seen a photograph annotated as: Mucuna cf wertheimii Burck , cult. Hort. Bog. XVIII.D.10, fl. 8.XI. 1910. Fl. auran- tiacum rubri (orange red). According to Verdcourt not Mucuna bennettii , warburgii , elegans , etc. The flowers of Mucuna? wertheimii are not known. The flowers of Dioclea hexandra are white, pinkish or purplish.
