Stem 12-30 cm. Bracts 10-25 x 1-5-4 mm. Corolla (7—)9—11(—14) mm, clear, pale yellow, the lower lip often spotted with purple. Anthers 2-5^4 mm. • E. & S. Carpathians. Po Rm Rs (W).

Ecotypic variants:

Autumnal: M. sylvaticum f. csatoi Soó , Feddes Repert. 24:174 (1927). Aestival: M. sylvaticum subsp. moeszianum Soó , op. cit. 190 (1927). Montane: type of the species.
