In this case too, there is no information on the presence of papulae or lamellae. According to Pilato and Lisi (2006), the type material of this species is lost. The presence of the characters 3, 4, 5, 7, 10 was reported in the original description and/or in the original drawings of the bucco-pharyngeal apparatus ( de Barros 1942). In the drawing of the bucco-pharyngeal apparatus (fig. 32, p. 381; de Barros 1942) the strengthening bar (ventral lamina) appears to be short (character 6). As pointed out by de Barros (1942), the egg is very similar to that of M. intermedius . Claxton (1998) and Pilato and Lisi (2006) reported that M. acontistus almost certainly belongs to Minibiotus but, as in the case of M. marcusi and M. crassidens , the species has not been transferred to that genus.
