Type species: Gracilaria kollariella Zeller, 1839 , by subsequent designation by Ely (1918). Proceedings of the entomological Society of Washington 19 (1917): 42, 70. The type species was attributed by Zeller to F[ischer] von R[öslerstamm], an incorrect authorship. The type species was established in combination with the generic name Gracilaria , at that time an incorrect subsequent spelling of Gracillaria Haworth, 1828 ( Nye & Fletcher 1991: 192).
