Hypnoidus butti Stibick, 1980

Hypnoidus butti Stibick, 1980: 269 (original description; published type locality: Lingga, Tibet; another locality- “Parachinar, Karram Vall., India ”); Dolin & Cate, 2002: 74 (re-examined Paratype; “ India, Paramushir, Kurram Vall.”); Platia & Sechi, 2022: 380 (checklist; “Indian Tibet”).

Type Locality. Tibet: Lingga ** [Tibet: Lingga, 15,000 ft., Mount Everest Exp.] .

Type Depository. Holotype, M ( NHML); 1 Allotype, F ( NHML); 3 Paratypes, 2 M, 1 F ( NHML) .

General Distribution. Pakistan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Tibet* ( Dolin & Cate 2002).

Remark. This species was originally recorded from “Parachinar, Karram Vall., India,” a locality which is situated in present-day Pakistan (Kurram District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). Additionally, Dolin & Cate (2002: 74), while examining a paratype, listed the locality as “ India, Paramushir, Kurram Vall.” This appears to be a lapsus calami, as Paramushir is part of the Kuril Islands in the northwest Pacific Ocean. Due to these errors, the species is not considered to occur in India.
