Subfamily Hemigryllinae Gorochov, 1986 View in CoL stat rev.
Redescription. Medium-size species (body length ranging between 11 and 15 mm). Body covered by fine hairs, making these insects soft to the touch, along with strong setae, mainly on the anterior and posterior margins of the pronotal disc, and the dorsal and ventral margins of the fore and middle legs ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 , 4 View FIGURE 4 , 5 View FIGURE 5 , 6 View FIGURE 6 , 9 View FIGURE 9 , 12 View FIGURE 12 ). Head rounded in frontal view, eyes positioned in the middle of the head; fastigium two or three times wider than the scape; median and lateral ocelli present ( Figs. 2A View FIGURE 2 , 7A View FIGURE 7 , 10A View FIGURE 10 ); hypopharinx hairs short. Tympanum ovoid and only present on the inner face of the fore tibia ( Figs. 2D View FIGURE 2 , 7D View FIGURE 7 , 10D View FIGURE 10 ); hind tibia with strong, long, and articulated apical and subapical spurs, with no spines between them; second segment of the tarsi reduced; last segment of the tarsi of the hind leg noticeably narrowing compared to the first one ( Figs. 2F View FIGURE 2 , 7F View FIGURE 7 , 10F View FIGURE 10 ). Males. Harp of the stridulatory apparatus crossed by some veins, generally by three or four veins; mirror medium size, which may ( Fig. 10H View FIGURE 10 ) or may not be divided by a medial vein ( Figs. 2H View FIGURE 2 , 7H View FIGURE 7 ), without long cell outlined distal part of mirror; chords curved, these veins generally spaced equidistantly; apical area developed ( Figs. 2H View FIGURE 2 , 7H View FIGURE 7 , 10H View FIGURE 10 ). Genitalia elongated, pseudepiphallic sclerite semi-tubular in shape, narrowing towards the apex, curving ventrally, covering or enclosing various structures, such as the pseudepiphallic paramere; in lateral view, the pseudepiphallic sclerite is subtriangular and curves upward ( Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 , 8 View FIGURE 8 , 11 View FIGURE 11 ). Females. Ovipositor very reduced, almost covered by the subgenital plate, valves appear thin, spine-like, and separated but not divergent ( Figs. 4C, D, E View FIGURE 4 ); spermatheca poorly developed.
