Nomenclatural notes:— Pittier (1937) described this taxon based on Pittier 10019, but did not specify a herbarium, thus making all specimens of that gathering syntypes (Art. 40.2 Note 1). We designate VEN443 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen.
