167. Ficus mexiae Standley. Publ. Field Mus. Nat. Hist., Bot. Ser. View in CoL 17(2): 173. 1937. TYPE:— BRAZIL. Minas Gerais: Viçosa , 700 m, 24 December 1930, Y. Mexia 5447 (lectotype, designated here: F–661740!; isolectotypes: A–00046046!, B–100244660!, BM–000611780!, CAS–0002730 [digital image!], F–1965713!, G–00438301 [digital image!], GB–0048191 [digital image!], GH–00034524!, K–000442989!, MICH–1115115!, MO–204168!, NY–00025319!, PH–00014271!, RSA –0004312 [digital image!], S–R–2324 [digital image!], TEX–00370478!, U–0004613 [image!], US–00090188!).
Nomenclatural notes:— Standley (1937) described this taxon indicating the holotype was stored in F. There are two sheets of Mexia 5447 in F and there is no clear indication that they constitute a single specimen (Art. 8.2 and 40.2), making them duplicates. We designate F1965713 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen.
