1. Ficus atrox Martius ex Dugand. Caldasia 2(8): 266. 1943. ≡ Urostigma atrox (Mart.) Miquel. London J. Bot. 6: 550. 1847. TYPE:— COLOMBIA. Amazonas: Porto dos Miranhas, sobre el río Caquetá, K. F. P. von Martius s.n. (lectotype, designated here: U– 0004570 [digital image!]; isolectotype: B!).
Nomenclatural notes:— This taxon was validly published by Dugand (1943) based on a Martius collection at M but it has been regarded to be a species in Marcgraviaceae . We were not able to locate this sheet in the M herbarium among Ficus collections and those from Marcgraviaceae and is thus presumed to be destroyed. We designate U0004570 as the lectotype.
