REMARKS
This squirrel was not found in our recent surveys nor by Misonne & Verschuren (1976). Coe (1975) describes a single specimen of Epixerus ebii Temminck, 1853 that he attributed to the jonesi subspecies but the specimen cannot be found in the NHM collections (P. Jenkins pers. comm.). However, four specimens of E. ebii from Nimba are housed in NMK (NMK348, 432, 448, 462).
It is a large squirrel with rich orange-brown colored dorsal pelage and forelimbs. The tail is slightly longer than HB and has a black and white color.
