Lectotype (designated by Fischer 1932):— INDIA.: India , s.d., König , J. G., s.n., ( LD, LD1281167 , digital image!); isolectotypes: [ BM, BM000958993 , BM000958992 ; C, C10010130 , digital images!].
Retzius proposed the name C. diphyllus based on the collection of Koenig from India Orientalis and the name C. diphyllus Retz. (1789:11) is now synonymised under C. corymbosus Rottb. (1773:42) . There are four sheets of Koenig’s collections (LD1281167, BM000958993, BM000958992 and C10010130) housed at LD, BM and C, respectively. Of these, LD1281167 is likely the one referred to by Retzius while describing C. diphyllus Retz. as it is with Koenig’s annotation and has been cited by Fischer (1932). Further, the herbarium sheet LD1281167 is labelled as the holotype of the name of C. diphyllus by G. C. Tucker in 2005. Though the use of the term holotype is not correct, this specimen serves as the lectotype for the name C. diphyllus .
