Description. Body ( Figs. 1-1A–B View FIGURE 1-1 ) pale yellowish testaceous. Head ochraceous, vertex with a darkish pitchy horizontal stripe, and in middle region with a short vertical stripe; area above antennal sockets with a pair of darkish brown and rounded marking; labrum and mandibles darkish brown; antennae yellowish brown on first four segments, black on terminal seven. Pronotum weakly ochraceous, anterior and basal margins black; disc with a pair of rounded black marking. Scutellum black. Elytron pale yellowish testaceous, basal, sutural and apical margins black; there is an oblong black stripe on humeral area. Ventral surface of body mostly darkish brown, prosternum and mesosternum yellowish brown; legs yellowish brown, tibia tinged with black.
Head slightly more than one-half of prothorax width, nearly round in frontal outline, moderately punctured; vertex feebly raised and with a longitudinal groove. Eyes emarginate below middle, superior eye-lobes separated and narrower than antennal insertions. Clypeus slightly punctured, anterior margin strongly concave, with long hairs. Antennae long and thick, reaching middle region of elytra; 1 st segment thick, clubbed, 2 nd spherical, 2/5 as long as 1 st, 3 rd slender, about 1.5 times as long as 2 nd, 4 like 3, 5 th longer than 4 th, from 5 th segment on somewhat equal in length, 5 th –8 th broad and flatted, terminal three segments slightly slender.
Pronotum ( Figs. 1-1A–B View FIGURE 1-1 ) convex, smooth and shining, 2/3 as long as broad, subtrapezoid in dorsal view; anterior margin nearly straight in dorsal view; basal margin moderately sinuate, obtuse and truncate in middle. Disc evenly convex, practically shiny. Scutellum tongue-shaped, longer than broad, raised posteriorly; with strongly fine punctures.
Elytron ( Figs. 1-1A–B View FIGURE 1-1 ) 1.2 times as long as broad, widest behind middle, rounded apically, slightly sinuate at side in dorsal view, humeri somewhat prominent, glabrous. Disc of each with eleven regular and even puncture rows, but punctures sparse apically, interspaces without punctures.
Ventral surfaces of body with close and fine punctures and pubescence. Prosternum trapeziform, anterior and posterior margins concave. Mesosternum shorter than prosternum, with width about 1.5 times of length. Metasternum with dense and coarse punctures. Pygidium with dense punctures and short pubescence.
Aedeagus ( Figs. 1-1D–F; 1-2A–C View FIGURE 1-1 View FIGURE 1-2 ) elongate, about 3.7 times as long as wide, parallel-sided. Apex of median lobe slightly narrower than middle, round at apex, moderately curved in lateral view; with sparse pubescence on each side of apex, without punctures. Median orifice with middle sclerite bending inwards below surface. Inner sac rather slender, bell-shaped, bilobed at apex. Tegmen Y-shaped, moderately sclerotized.
Female. Body more robust than male. Spermatheca ( Figs. 1-1C; 1-2D View FIGURE 1-1 View FIGURE 1-2 ) hook-shaped, right-angled and bending near at halfway, very acute at apex; duct weakly sclerotized, basal part spirally coiling, and apical part irregularly coiling. Rectal sclerites moderately sclerotized, slightly connected between two rectangular sclerites on ventral side.
Distribution: China (Yunnan).
Diagnosis. This new species is similar to C. (s. str.) sinuatolineatus Pic, 1920 , but can be distinguished by the black markings on head, pronotum and elytra. The male of the new species has slenderer aedeagus and the female has the apical part of spermathecal duct irregularly coiling.
Etymology. The specific epithet, bimaculatithoracalis , is derived from the Latin words “ bimaculati” and “thoracalis”, to indicate this new species of females pronotum with two black markings.
