Syntype: “ Holo-type // Chili Fairm. // Stigmodera hastaria fairm // hastaria Fairmaire Type // Kerremans. 1903-59. // NHMUK 014380357 ” .

Current status: Synonym of Conognatha ( Pithiscus) viridiventris sagittaria ( Fairmaire, 1856) ( Moore & Lander, 2010; Moore & Vidal, 2015).

Comments: Fairmaire & Germain (1858:728) provided the replacement name Stigmodera hastaria Fairmaire & Germain, 1858 , when the original name Pithiscus sagittarius Fairmaire, 1856 was supposedly preoccupied by a species of Polychroma (name suppressed in Buprestidae ).
