Type (lectotype, designated here):— INDONESIA. Sulawesi Island, August, Reinwardt s.n. (U! [ U0096712 ]; isolectotype L! [ L0397716 ]).
Blume (1825) cited the specimen Reinwardt s.n. collected in Celebes (Sulawesi) as type of Columbia celebica , without specifying any herbarium. Analysing the herbaria where Reinwardt’s collection is kept ( Stafleu & Cowan 1976 –1988: 708), two duplicates of Reinwardt s.n. for the name C. celebica were found in L and U. For this reason, in accordance with Art. 9.3 of the ICN, is designate here the specimen U0096712 as the lectotype of Colona celebica by choosing the most preserved and complete specimen.
