Rhizome short, truncate, without stolons; roots up to 20 cm, spreading, narrowly fusiform, with very long, slender apex. Stem 25-35 cm, simple or sparingly branched. Leaves with arachnoid indumentum; lower narrowly lanceolate, entire or lyrate-dentate, very acute; cauline linear-lanceolate. Appendages with decurrent margin c. 0-5 mm wide. Outer florets purplish-pink. S. Bulgaria.
