Siphonochalina tubulosa

Under the present name there are no sequences available, but the neotype is wet and possibly may yield sequenceable DNA; there is also a recent specimen described by Samaai & Gibbons, 2005: 83 (as Callyspongia ), SAM-H4939 with fragment BMNH 1997.5 .12.46, which may be sequenced .

Genbank lists several sequences obtained from Siphonochalina sp. from the Red Sea, voucher ZMA Por. 14630 (COI, 18SrRNA and 28SrRNA sequences) reported by Raleigh et al. (2007), and from the Central Pacific, voucher GW33470 (COI, 28SrRNA) reported by Galitz et al. (2023). These sequences may be useful to check against future sequencing of the neotype.
