Type locality

Cueva de Mingobalsa [original citation: “Provincia de Santander: Cueva de Mingobalsa , en Los Corrales, cerca de Castro-Urdiales”].

Type material

Paratypes: MZB 71-9606 (1 ♀), MZB 78-2483 (1 ♂), type loc., IX-1916, C. Bolívar leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey).

Remarks

Bolívar (1917) does not state the number of specimens in the type series, and only indicates that the male “Tipo” (= holotype, Article. 73.1.1.) is deposited in his collection (currently part of the MNCNM collection). Subsequently, he mentions material he collected from the type locality and five other caves in September 1916. The specimens in the MCNB collection have printed collection labels (the collection date, though, is hand-written), as well as a red label with the printed inscription “Cotypus”. The male MZB 78-2483 has a determination label hand-written by Bolívar with the inscription “co-TIPOS”. Along with the holotype we have found in the MNCNM (box 14) a series of specimens from the caves mentioned by Bolívar but not identified as part of the type series. In the MNHNP general collection (box 55), we have found at least one specimen from the type locality labelled “cotype” with similar collection labels .
