Cueva del Castillo [original citation: “Cueva del Castillo, cerca de Noja ... término municipal de Castillo de las Siete Villas ... partido judicial de Santoña, provincia de Santander”].

Type material

Paratypes: MZB 78-2484, MZB 78-2485 (2 ♂♂), type loc., O. Cendrero leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey). │ MZB 78- 2226, MZB 78-2227 (1 ♂, 1 ♀), Cueva de Paulino CoterÓn, O. Cendrero leg. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey).

Remarks

Bolívar (1923) does not specify the number of specimens in the type series, that originate from five localities in Cantabria (he reports “numerosos ejemplares de esta especie recogidos por el Sr. Cendrero” [numerous specimens of this species collected by Sr. Cendrero]). The specimens deposited in the MCNB collection are identified as cotypes on their determination labels, hand-written by Bolívar; specimens MZB 78-2226 and MZB 78-2227 also have red cotype labels. A male specimen with accession number MZB 78-2228 exists from the cave Paulino Coterón, with an identical collection label and a label with the inscription “prép nº 59”, but is not identified as belonging to the type series. The ♂ holotype, originally designated as “Tipo” (Article 73.1.1.) is deposited in MNCNM ( Bolívar, 1923). Along with this specimen (box 14), we have also found a number of specimens from the localities recorded by Bolívar (1923), probably belonging to the type series, although they are not labelled as such. In the MNHNP general collection (box 55) we have found at least one specimen from the type locality labelled as a cotype.
