Bolotettix parvus Storozhenko , sp. nov.

( Figs 42–49 View FIGURES 42–49 )

Material examined. Holotype — ♂, Philippines: Mindanao Island , Mount Kitanglad Range Natural Park, 8.19° N, 124.92° E, h= 1350 m, 3.02.2024, leg. M.M. Omelko ( ZIN) GoogleMaps . Paratype: 1 ♂, the same data as for holotype ( ZIN) GoogleMaps .

Diagnosis. The new species is most similar to Bolotettix semperi by small size and stout hind femora, but differs from latter in the shape of spine of lateral lobes of pronotum (in B. semperi spine directed outwards). By directed obliquely backwards spine B. parvus sp. nov. is similar to B. luzonicus , but easily recognizable from it by stout hind femora (in latter species hind femur 2.9–3 times as long as wide).

Description. Male (holotype and paratype). Body of small size for genus. Antennae filiform, 15-segmented; antennal grooves situated at the level of the lower margin of eyes. Length of antenna 1.8 times longer than length of fore femur; mid segments of antennae 4.5–4.7 times as long as wide. Lateral ocelli placed distinctly above the level of lower margin of eyes. Fastigium of vertex with concavities between lateral carinae, reaching the front of eyes from dorsal aspect, 1.1 times narrower than width of one eye from above; anterior margin of fastigium rounded; median carina reaching middle of eyes; lateral carinae slightly elevated. Width of 1st antennal segment 1.1 times wider than width of frontal ridge near base of antennae. Median carina of pronotum in profile low, wavy. Prozonal carinae converge backwards, prozona 1.2 times as wide as long. Hind margin of lateral lobe of pronotum bisinuate, tegminal (upper) sinus distinct; lower sinus deep; lower part of lateral lobe with spine directed obliquely backwards. Tegmina elongated; width of visible part of tegmen 1.5–1.6 times narrower than width of mid femur. Hindwings short, not reaching the apex of the posterior process of pronotum. Fore and mid femora with finely dentate upper and lower margins. For femur 2.8–3 times, mid femur 3 times as long as wide. Hind femur stout, 2.1 times as long as wide. Upper side of hind tibia with 4–5 outer and 4 inner teeth. First tarsal segment of hind legs 1.2 times as long as 3rd segment (without claws); tarsal pulvilli elongated, almost equal in size. Epiproct narrow triangular, with pointed apex. Subgenital plate in lateral view elongated; in ventral view apex of plate excised. Cerci conical, 1.6 times as long as wide.

Body of holotype blackish brown. Head blackish; antennae brown. Dorsal side of the pronotum blackish. Fore and mid femora brown with indistinct black marks. Fore and mid tibiae light brown with two black rings. Upper outer area of hind femora brown, lower area black. Hind tibiae black. Abdominal tergites black, apical segments dorsally light brown. Abdominal sternites light brown. Body of paratype colored as in holotype but lateral lobes and dorsal side of pronotum before shoulders light brown.

Female unknown.

Measurements (in mm). Length of male body (from frontal ridge to apex of subgenital plate) 5.5–6.4; pronotum 5.4–5.6; antenna 2.3; fore femur 1.1–1.3; mid femur 1.4–1.5; hind femur 3.9.

Distribution. Philippines: Mindanao Island.

Etymology. From Latin ‘ parvus’ means small.
