Type locality

Cova de l’Aigua de Malaterra [original citation: “Cueva de Mala-terra, junto al Puig del Áliga, termino municipal de Rosas, provincia de Gerona”].

Type material

Holotype ♂: MZB 78-2913, type loc. (ex coll. R. Zariquiey).

Paratypes: MZB 78-1763, MZB 78-2914 (2 ♀♀), same data as holotype (ex coll. R. Zariquiey) .

Remarks

Male holotype designated originally by Zariquiey (1940) as “Tipo” (Article 73.1.1.), deposited in his collection. Subsequently, he reports the collection in a trap of eight specimens without specifying their sex. We have only been able to find three of these specimens (1 ♂ and 2 ♀♀), with a collection date of November 1934. Each has a red label with the hand-written inscription “TIPO”. Oleguer Escolà has identified the male as the holotype designated by Zariquiey, and has added the respective red holotype and paratype labels to these specimens. Unless evidence to contrary comes to light, we accept as a holotype the specimen identified as such by Escolà. In “box 52” of the MNHNP collection, we have found a male labelled “COTYPE” with identical collection labels .
