Type depository: ZMB?: holotype (male) in the original description ; USNTC: holotype? (unspecified developmental stage) ( Keirans & Clifford 1984)

Type locality: Borneo

Type host: Sus verrucosus

Current status: a synonym of Amblyomma testudinarium ( Anastos 1950, Camicas et al. 1998).

Comments: Moritz & Fischer (1981) did not recognize the presence of a type specimen held in the ZMB, while Keirans & Clifford (1984) named as “ type ” the specimen deposited in the USNTC, under the name Amblyomma borneense infestum (a lapsus).
