Type locality: Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago

Type host: “Goube-mouche”

Current status: a synonym of Amblyomma longirostre , as listed in Camicas et al. (1998).

Comments: Keirans & Clifford (1984) did not include specimens of Amblyomma avicola in their catalog of types held in the USNTC .
