One ♂ syntype from Brazil (box 2) labelled: "♂ Brésil M. H. de Saussure" and " Acontista bimaculata Sauss. " (handwritten on green paper). This species is now considered a synonym of Acontista aurantiaca (Burmeister, 1838) .
