Diagnosis

Body medium-sized (body length around 36 mm), but larger than other Haphsa -like genera. Head including compound eyes wider than mesonotum. Postclypeus moderately prominent, with symmetrical series of fuscous fasciae along transverse grooves. Pronotum much longer than head and distinctly shorter than mesonotum excluding cruciform elevation. Lateral pronotal collar dentate. Mesonotum mostly black with two pairs of thin longitudinal fasciae. Wings hyaline, with eight and six apical cells on fore wing and hind wing, respectively. Fore wing with apical cells in short length. Fore wing with infuscations on radial and radiomedial crossveins, and sometimes with roundish infuscation on each hind submargin of radius anterior 2, radius posterior, median 1 to 4 and cubitus anterior 1 veins. Male operculum short and wide, roughly triangular, about as long as wide, extending slightly beyond posterior margin of abdominal sternite III at longest. Male opercula slightly overlapped or slightly separated. Male abdomen longer than head and thorax together. Male abdominal tergite 3 distinctly wider than mesonotum. Timbal cover about as long as wide, fully concealing timbal in dorsal view. Male pygofer obovate in ventral view. Clasper and upper lobes of pygofer absent. Uncus large, with uncal lobes fused at base, bifurcate distally, protruding ventrally; hooked or curved inwardly in lateral view. Basal lobe of pygofer absent. Aedeagus thin, protruding between bases of uncal lobes.

Remarks

This genus can be distinguished from other Haphsa -like genera by the following characteristics: body much larger; uncus in same breadth from base to apex and hooked at apex in lateral view; and timbal cover entirely concealing timbal in dorsal view.
